Tricia Concannon
~ Glenfeld Farm ~
Tricia grew up riding ponies in Weston, Ma. She started showing Hunters and Equitation at the age of ten and joined the Jericho Forest Pony club where she achieved a “B” rating by the age of sixteen. Combining Horse Showing and Eventing, she showed at almost every venue in the Northeast during her teenage years. Tricia earned a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and went on to become a professor of Equine Studies at Mount Ida College. During this time she brought along young horses, mostly off track Thoroughbreds, to compete in the Hunter and Jumper divisions at horse shows. She showed Tasmanian Devil to 1.30 meters and earned many wins and championships at A shows in the northeast. She also showed Kastanea to the second year green working hunters, earning many wins. Tricia has shown extensively, both her own and client’s horses, in A and AA shows from Wellington and Ocala to Vermont.
During her lifetime, Tricia has had the opportunity to learn from many notable trainers such as Renata Landsburg, Kathy Connolly, Lendon Gray, Tad Coffin, Fred Hunt, Lauren Stevens, Betsey Reeves, Stephie Baer and Mark Weissbecker, to name a few. She has trained riders in all levels, including Medal and Maclay, and has qualified riders for MHJ, SEHA, MHC and NEHC finals. She is currently being considered for “r” status as USEF Hunter/Equitation judge. Tricia likes to train horses for the Hunter ring and Hunter Derbies and has several young horses in training she hopes will be ready to do Derbies next year.
